On this hackathon, I worked as a UI & UX designer with a team of 5 friends. We wanted to work on one of the most popular problems while traveling. So we decided to try and solve the last mile problem.
The idea was to implement this feature inside of Kiwi.com and give the customers a full user experience of buying an airplane ticker and having the ability to schedule you ride for once you arrive at the destination.
The main idea was to fully complete the entire user experience of buying a plane ticket and traveling to a different location without thinking about how your going to get to the hotel.
We created an app that will track all your purchased tickets on Kiwi.com and give you the ability to schedule a ride using a transportation network company in that country. For example, if you're going to Bangkok, you'll get a Grab car waiting for you.
Same works for Uber, Lyft or whether company is relevant in that country.
The entire flow is split into 3 simple steps for to user to go through.
1. Selecting the destination and having a Google route show up from the airport to the hotel. All with a time estimate and traffic statistics.
2. Selecting what vehicle the user wants. Usually, we give them an option between a smaller car and a car for 4+ people if there's a bigger group.
3. That's it! You're all done, the last screen is made for the user to select his payment method and leave a message for the driver if he has any special requests.
